Sustainability at Schaltungsdruck Storz

Sustainability is an integral part of PCB production at Schaltungsdruck Storz. We continuously work to optimise internal workflows and production processes so that our production can be managed in a resource-efficient and energy-efficient way.

The focus is primarily on energy consumption, waste reduction, emission parameters and the controlled use of water and chemicals. Our production fulfils recognised environmental standards and all relevant statutory requirements. At the same time, we use materials that comply with applicable regulatory requirements and pay attention to traceable supply chains.

Environmental and resource protection in production

For many years, sustainability has been a firm part of our responsibility - from material procurement and resource use through to modern cooling systems and recycling.

This includes, among other things:

  • Reduction of chemical processes through modern production technologies (2022)
  • Use of a modern chiller system (2021)
  • Use of a biofilter to treat exhaust air and solvents (2011)
  • In-house processing of copper sludge (2008)
  • Responsible recycling of PCB scrap with selected partners
  • Use of recycled copper foils

Regulatory requirements and certified standards

PCB production is subject to strict regulatory requirements. These include requirements for handling chemicals, emissions and safety-relevant processes, including relevant directives such as the RoHS Directive on the restriction of hazardous substances in electronic components.

Storz works based on certified management systems, including:

  • Environmental management according to ISO 14001
  • Energy management according to ISO 50001

These systems ensure that requirements are implemented in a structured way, documented and continuously developed.

In addition, specialised functions such as radiation protection officers and responsible roles for safety-relevant processes are firmly embedded in the organisation.

Sustainability as part of stable processes

At Storz, sustainability is not an isolated topic, but part of the entire process landscape. Clear workflows, documented procedures and controlled production conditions ensure that environmental and quality requirements are reliably met.

In this way, we combine technical stability with responsible use of resources in day-to-day production.
